How did I ever live without this? I just hate making things with ties b/c you have to sew it right sides together to make a tube and then figure out how to turn it right side out. Typically I use a safety pin and the hardest part for me is get the safety pin to go into the tube at all. This is especially difficult when the tube is very thin. I came across this notion as I was browing the notions wall at Joann Fabrics. I figured it wouldn't hurt to try it. I LOVE IT! Oh My God! I turned 4 tubes in like a minute!
First you insert the hollow tube, the blue one, all the way to the bottom of your tube.
Then you insert the dowel.
Until it comes out through the top. You then keep pushing up, and pull your fabric out. Easy!
It comes with 3 sizes of cylinders, 3/16, 3/8 and 1/2.

I have been looking all over the web for some tube turning tricks like this -- thank you so much!
my mother was telling me about this tool. She used it when she was a teenager (many years ago). She couldn't remember the name of it, but she said it was a rod that turned narrow things. Thanks for the info.
Just came across your post. I need this tool! I will be making a trip to Joann's pronto! Thanks for the tip! :-)
I had this tool and then lent it to a neighbor. She lost it and now I can't find it anywhere! Do you know where I can buy a new one?
Ami, I bought this at Joann Fabrics.
I checked on line at JoAnn's but they don't list it. I've looked in various on line sites but can't find it. Anyone know where I can buy it?
your going to think this is funny, but i really needed to get this project done so i was looking around the house for anything i could use as a "tube turner" I had a small chop stick and i grabbed a tampon. the tube was a plastic. i tried it and it worked!! sounds weird, but it worked for me!! and i didnt spend any extra money. :D
